DUNBOYNE CASTLE HOUSING & APARTMENT

Carried out alongside our development works at the hotel complex this project was a green field development site, but one of the major factors for consideration with this project was upgrading of the existing foul drainage to be able to facilitate the additional populace.

The upgrade of the foul sewer involved the installation of a new line, which was over one kilometre long and of varying in pipe sizes. Due to the complexity of the works and the very close proximity of the river Tolka combined with the added constraints associated with working through residential areas, considerable liaison with local residents was carried out. In addition, whilst working adjacent to the river due care was taken to ensure conformity that the works were carried out in accordance with the Eastern Regional Fisheries Board. The remainder of the works placed with our Company involved the main infrastructure of the site in which 68 Acres were developed.

With Mulleady Civil Engineering Limited very conscious of “value engineering” and environmental issues no excavated material was taken off site but used in the bringing up of levels, subsequently major savings were afforded to the client, whilst limiting the environmental aspects of the development by not generating additional landfill and or additional traffic movements outside the site boundaries.

Included within the scope of works we were also required to upgrade the Maynooth Road which was brought up to local highway standards during which considerable liaisons with the local authority and extensive traffic management studies were undertaken to ensure that minimum disruption was caused whilst the required works were undertaken.
