Mulleady Civil Engineering Limited successfully supplied our client with a new production factory under this specific contract. The existing ground level had to be raised by some 2 metres as the site was formally an old quarry which had been used for sand washing, this resulted in us having to deal with running sand, which was dealt with successfully by ourselves. Due to the conditions of the site and the extensive use of fill material in the sub-strata, extensive lime stabilisation works and piling works were required. Further works also encompassed specialist activities with the construction of two number batching shafts at a depth in excess of 5.5 metres, which were constructed in reinforced in-situ concrete, which also necessitated the use of non - proprietary ground support systems designed by ourselves. The activities undertaken by the client dictated that a comprehensive drainage system would be required as such Mulleady Civil Engineering Limited designed and installed a far more environmentally effective system than a standard installation which incorporated numerous interceptors and storage systems to make sure that no contaminants would enter the external drainage systems. The factory floor proved to require equal attention and subsequent precision of works once on site. The activities to be undertaken within the building once completed involved the use of very high technological machinery which worked to a zero tolerance. Therefore all the guide rails, installation bolts, fixtures etc installed by Mulleady Civil Engineering had to be installed to perfection. Externally, we were involved in the construction of a very large area to include (12 ½ acres approx) as a curing area for the factories final product, this was designed to withstand a point loading of 60 tonnes, as it would be subjected to constant loading from mobile cranes/forklifts. | |
