As one of Ireland’s latest luxury hotel and spa complexes, Dunboyne Castle opened in April 2006. Our involvement on this project commenced during the planning stages offing professional advice to the client as to what methods would lend themselves to such a specific project. Once the project received the go ahead we were able to secure both the infrastructure and groundwork’s packages.
The infrastructure works included:
- The installation of both storm and foul water drainage, which consisted of both gravity and pumped systems, which were subsequently installed professionally and within the small permitted tolerances allowed for this type of work.
- The forming of a lake to act as a storm water attenuation tank, whilst providing a feature for the hotel grounds upon completion.
- Laying of services to supply the various needs of the development.
- Considerable landscape works which included many plateaus and an external multi purpose sports playing area.
- Forming of service roads and extensive car parking areas including for a varying number of service finishes.
The groundwork’s package included:
- Underpinning of the existing listed building.
- The complete substructure works for the new build accommodation wings.
- Substructure works for the new spa and leisure facilities including the forming of the swimming pool complex.
All of the above works were successfully completed by Mulleady Civil Engineering Limited despite the physical constraints of the site which included a considerable number of listed trees, which we were required to protect and work around in the spirit of maintaining environmental harmony.
